AS A REDSHIRT-SENIOR (2016): Saw time in all 17 contests and started in six…tallied a goal and an assist in the 21-0 shutout against Quinnipiac (Feb. 17)…caused two turnovers against Vanderbilt (April 16)…picked up one ground ball against Georgetown (April 20)…earned an assist and one draw control at Florida (April 24)…took credit for a draw control against Temple in the Big East semifinals (May 5).
AS A SENIOR (2015): Did not appear in any games.
AS A JUNIOR (2014): Started 14 of UConn's 17 games... Tallied eight points on four goals and four assists... Netted a goal against Dartmouth (Feb. 26), Oregon (March 14), Fresno State (March 16) and Louisville (April 17)... Recorded a season-best three draw controls against Oregon and a season-high two ground balls against Cincinnati (April 19) and Georgetown (May 1)... Finished the year with 16 ground balls, nine draw controls and and seven caused turnovers.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2013): Played in all 18 games, starting 10 of them... Scored three goals on the season... Had two goals against Quinnipiac (March 2)... Finished the season with 13 groundballs and four draw controls.
AS A FRESHMAN (2012): Appeared in 13 games as a freshman defender... Finished the season with three ground balls and one draw control.
BEFORE UCONN: A Dual County League All-Star as a junior and senior, she captained Acton Boxborough Regional as a senior... First Team Lower New England selection... Academic All-American as a senior... Received the Presidential Gold Community Service Award... competed with Mass Elite Club Lacrosse.
PERSONAL: Karaline Julia Smith... daughter of William and Laurie Smith... has two siblings, Ryan and Sarah... born Dec. 27, 1992.
