DURHAM, N.H. - The UConn women's lacrosse team hit the road for an afternoon contest at UNH on Wednesday and came away with a 12-9 victory to improve to 4-1 on the season. Senior Kiersten Tupper led the way with four goals and an assist for Connecticut.
Junior Brittney Testa earned the victory with 10 saves for the Huskies.
Connecticut outscored the Wildcats, 8-2, in the first half, with Tupper notching all-four of her goals in the opening 30 minutes. Mackenzie Rainone also added a pair in the first half.
UConn went down 1-0 just 37 seconds into the game but responded with three-straight goals to take the lead for good. UNH added its second goal at 23:40 but the Huskies went on to score five at the end of the first and two goals at the start of the second half to go ahead, 10-2 at 22:48 of the second half.
Senior M.E. Lapham added a goal for UConn to extend her scoring streak to 44 games.
The Huskies will host Fairfield in Storrs on Saturday at 1 p.m. The game will be streamed live through Uconnhuskies.com
