Kahn earns first BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week accolade.

STORRS, Conn.- UConn midfielder Lauren Kahn was selected as this week's BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This marks Kahn's first weekly conference accolade of her career.
The Nanuet, N.Y. native earns the honor after totaling 12 points in a 2-0 week for the Huskies. Kahn had four points, including three goals in a 13-8 win at rv/15 Boston College on Feb. 27. It was UConn's first win over a ranked team since 2007. The junior also had eight points, including six assists in a 20-6 victory at Quinnipiac on March 2. Kahn also totaled six draw controls, five caused turnovers and four ground balls in the two road wins.
"Lauren had a very strong week last week and has really upped her game. I'm excited to see how she continues to develop over the season," stated head coach Katie Woods.
Kahn leads UConn with 19 points on nine goals and a team-best 10 assists, while Kacey Pippitt has 10 points on 10 goals. Freshman keeper Shannon Nee is now 3-0 in her young career after registering 11 saves on the season.
The Huskies host New Hampshire in their home opener on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the George J. Sherman Family-Sports complex. The squad enters Wednesday with a 3-0 record which is the second time in three years UConn has posted three victories to start the season. Connecticut is 4-5 all-time against the Wildcats with the last meeting resulting in a UConn 12-7 win in 2012.
