Lacrosse Heads to Fairfield for Saturday Matinee

STORRS, Conn.- UConn lacrosse heads to Fairfield (3-3) on Saturday looking for the best start to the season since 2000 as the Huskies enter the noon contest with a 4-0 record which includes downing No. 15 Boston College.

The Huskies walked away with an 11-9 win in their home opener against New Hampshire where the UConn freshmen continued to have a solid start to their collegiate careers as Carly Palmucci lifted the Huskies to victory with six points on two goals and four assists. Freshman keeper Shannon Nee improved to 4-0 after holding off the Wildcats late game surge and tallying five saves on the afternoon.

Junior Lauren Kahn, this week’s BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, leads the Huskies with 23 points with team-bests of 11 goals and 12 assists, while Palmucci totals 14 points on eight goals and six assists. Also registering double-figure points is Kacey Pippitt (10 goals) and Morgan O’Reilly (five goals, five assists) who each have 10 points heading into Saturday’s game.
