    PHILADELPHIA, PA - The University of Connecticut women’s lacrosse team dropped a 18-7 decision to host Temple on Sunday in Philadelphia, PA. With the loss the Huskies drop to 1-1 while Temple is 1-0.

    Senior Megan Campbell (Phoenixville, PA) scored two goals as the Huskies used a strong first half effort to trail by just one goal at the half. Leading 6-5, Temple opened the second half with its seventh goal at the 27:30 mark before UConn’s Kristen Williams (Levittown, NY) countered with just over 20 minutes left to play to keep the Huskies within striking distance. The Owls then scored seven unanswered goals to pull away for good.

    Sophomore goalkeeper April Pollock (North Syracuse, NY) had 14 saves for the Huskies.

    The Huskies will be back in action on Wednesday, March 14, when they host Yale at 3:00 on turf at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex in Storrs.
