    STORRS, Conn.- The UConn lacrosse team returns to Storrs for a Saturday matinee where they will welcome Binghamton (0-4) to the George J. Sherman Family-Sports Complex for a 1 p.m. contest. The Huskies enter Saturday’s game with a perfect 5-0 record, the best start in the program since 2000, earning them a national ranking of No. 20.

    Huskies Battle Past Binghamton, 14-12
    Behind four-goal efforts from seniors M.E. Lapham and Kiersten Tupper, the UConn women's lacrosse squad earned a 14-12 victory at Binghamton on Saturday afternoon. UConn improved to 3-1 on the season. Binghamton dropped to 0-2.

    The Huskies are led by Lauren Kahn who has tallied 26 points with team-bests of 14 goals and 12 assists as she leads the BIG EAST in points per game. The junior mid earned back-to-back BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after guiding the Huskies to a home opener win over New Hampshire and an overtime victory at Fairfield.

    Connecticut is outscoring opponents 13.80 to 7.20 with the Huskies averaging 28.4 shots per game and recording an 81.7 shot on goal percentage.  In addition to Kahn, UConn has four others registering double-figures in Kacey Pippitt (21), Carly Palmucci (15), Morgan O’Reilly (13) and Catherine Gross (10).

    The Bearcats come to Storrs searching for their first win of the 2013 campaign as they own a 0-4 mark on the year. Binghamton is being outscored by opponents 11.25 to 7.00 as the squad is averaging 18.8 shots per game.
