STORRS, Conn. - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has announced that two University of Connecticut student-athletes are part of a group of 173 athletes from 56 institutions that were honored for their academic success this past season. Recent graduate Megan Lally joined current junior Siobhan Wilcox in receiving the academic honor.

Lally and Wilcox, both defenders for the Huskies, were selected to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team this past year.

Lally is a two-time academic honoree from the IWLCA. A biological sciences major, she was most recently honored by the UConn Club as an Outstanding Senior Scholar-Athlete. Lally appeared in 58 games over four years, starting 45. She finished her career with 52 ground balls, 27 draw controls and 32 caused turnovers.

Wilcox, a junior nursing major, appeared in 14 games in 2012 as a sophomore, starting six on defense. Wilcox finished this past season with 11 ground balls, two draw controls and three caused turnovers.

The Huskies will open the fall schedule with a playday at UMass on September 22.
