Meet the Newest Huskies

STORRS, Conn. – With the 2016 season right around the corner, get to know the newest additions to the UConn women’s lacrosse team. The Huskies welcomed eight newcomers to the squad this year with seven incoming freshman and one transfer student. See below for the full bios on each of the newest Huskies.

Anna Costello | Hartford, Conn. | Loomis Chaffee | 5’2 | M

Before UConn: Was a four year starter at Loomis Chaffee in Windsor, Conn….helped Loomis Chaffee to the 2015 Western New England Championship title…made First Team All-American in 2015..served as captain her senior year…was voted MVP in 2015…was the recipient of Loomis Chaffee Barbera Erickson Senior Athlete Award in 2015…earned New England All-Star honors in 2013 and 2014…contributed to founders league in 2013-15…earned four varsity letters for soccer and also served as captain for that squad her senior year.

Personal: Anna Marie Costello…born September of 1996…daughter of John and Leslie Costello…has two younger brothers, Jack and Tommy…is a pre-teaching major at UConn.

Kiera Dalmass | Moorestown, N.J. | Moorestown High School | 5’6 | D

Before UConn: Played for Moorestown High School and helped them to be the New Jersey Group 3 State Champions in 2013, 2014 and 2015…earned US Lacrosse Academic All-American honors in 2014 and 2015…Sectional Champions in 2013, 2014 and 2015…helped the team to become Burlington County Scholastic League Champions and the winner of the New Jersey State Tournament of Champions in 2013 and 2014…finished as the public school national champions in 2014…was named to the Burlington County Scholastic League 2nd Team Defense in 2014…also played varsity soccer where she earned captain, All-State and senior All-Star honors.



Personal: Kiera Bridget Dalmass…born July of 1997…daughter of Chris and Kelly Dalmass…has three younger siblings, Nate, Julia and John…majoring in statistics.

Dani Dunn | Darien, Conn. | Darien High School | 5’3 | M

Before UConn: Played midfield for Darien High School where she helped the team to ECIAC and State Championships…she earned two varsity soccer letters and one varsity letter in track and field…earned second team All-State in track.

Personal: Daniela Anne Dunn…born in December of 1996…daughter of Brian and Gina Dunn…has two sisters…majoring in animal science.

Olivia Eigel | Glenview, Ill. | Glenbrook South | 5’6 | M

Before UConn: Earned three varsity letters for Glenbrook South…served as captain in 2015…earned All-Conference honors 2013-2015…was named to All-State team in both 2014 and 2015…awarded All-America honorable mention in 2014 and First Team All-America in 2015…earned Academic All-America honors in 2014 and 2015…finished with 113 career goals, 34 assists, 178 draw controls, 120 ground balls and 90 caused turnovers…led the team in draw controls, ground balls and caused turnovers.

Personal: Olivia Suzann Eigel…born in September of 1997…daughter of Jeff and Karoline Eigel…has a younger brother, Jameson, and a younger sister, Annabel…majoring in business management at UConn.

Brooke Jensen | Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y. | Cold Spring Harbor High School | 5’8 | M

Before UConn: Three sport varsity letter-winner at Cold Spring Harbor High School on Long Island, N.Y. …helped the team to become Long Island Champions in 2014…earned MVP honors at State Championship in 2014…was voted All-County lacrosse player and made All-Long Island second team…served as a captain for all three sports teams she played for: lacrosse, basketball and soccer…also earned All-County honors for both soccer and basketball…four year honor roll student.

Personal: Brooke Elizabeth Jensen…born September of 1997…daughter of David and Deborah Jensen…has two older brothers, David and Robert, and an older sister, Victoria…is currently undecided on a major at UConn.

Lexi Kenneally | Wayne, Pa. | Radnor High School | 5’3 | A

Before UConn: Earned two varsity letters in lacrosse from Radnor high school.

Personal: Alexandra Clare Kenneally…born April of 1997…daughter of Tim Kenneally and Clare Reynolds…has a younger sister, Cece…is currently undecided on a major at UConn.

Cait Leary | Suffern, N.Y. | Suffern High School | 5’2 | A

Before UConn: Served as a captain for Suffern’s lacrosse team her sophomore, junior and senior year…honored twice as an All-American…earned All-Section, All-League and All-County accolades all four years in high school…also a varsity letter-winner in swimming where she was also deemed All-County and All-League all four years…member of the National Art Honors Society.

Personal: Caitlin Rae Leary…born January of 1997…daughter of Chris and Marta Leary…has one older brother, Chris…majoring in animal science.

Grace McDonald | Westwood, Mass. | Westwood High School/Virginia Commonwealth | 5’7 | M

Before UConn: Transferred from Virginia Commonwealth University…earned three varsity letters for lacrosse from Westwood High School…helped Westwood to two Division I State titles, including an undefeated, 24-0, season in 2014…in her three seasons with Westwood the team only recorded three losses, going overall 70-3…played on the 2014 All-American Under Armour uncommitted team…played six years for Mass Elite…earned Tri-Valley League All-Star honors her senior year…earned two varsity letters for basketball…four year honor roll student…

Personal: Grace Ann McDonald…born in March of 1996…daughter of Kevin and Lynnie McDonald…has four younger siblings, Ryan, Molly, Kevin and Kyle…majoring in human development and family studies.
