Women's Rowing Travels to Lake Quinsigamond to Challenge Boston College, Holy Cross

Mai Walters and the Huskies took second in the 3V8+ race on Sunday in Worcester, Mass.

WORCESTER, Mass. -- The University of Connecticut women's rowing team continued a busy week when it traveled to Worcester Mass. to compete against Boston College and Holy Cross at Lake Quinsigamond on Sunday, April 19.

The Husky 3V8+ `A' took second in its race, finishing in 7:38.4. Boston College won the race with a 7:32.3 time while the Eagles' 3V8+ `B' finished third (7:51.8) and Holy Cross checked in in fourth (8:07.05).

The Eagles' V8+ claimed a first-place finish with a 6:51.9 second time, topping the Crusaders (6:54.13) and Huskies (7:02.61).

The Eagles again grabbed first in the 2V4+ (7:44.3), while the Husky 2V4+ `A' placed second (8:03.04) and the UConn 2V4+ `B' notched a third place finish (8:22.11), finishing ahead of Holy Cross (8:52.53).

In the 2V8 + race, BC won with a 7:04.2 time, while Holy Cross (7:12.04) and UConn (7:14.01) finished second and third, respectively.

The Huskies' V4+ recorded a third-place result (8:24.86) as BC (7:52.96) nabbed its fifth first-place finish.

The Husky V8+ was Elise McCormick (cox),  Audrey Kelley  (stroke), Laura Webster (seven), Nikoline Laidlaw (six),  Kate Hughes (five), Rachel Signor (four), Christine Latona (three), Brenna Conrad (two) and Haley Ullinger



The Husky 2V8+ was Alexandra Coults (cox), Arielle Sherman (stroke), Alyssa Hopson (seven), Caitie Parsons (six), Diana Gryszkiewicz (five), Heather Norris (four), Mae Hanson (three), Abbie Viner (two), and Teresa Starzecki (bow).

The Husky 3V8+ was Norelis Collado (cox), Emily Powers (stroke),Claire Kenison (seven), Amanda Litty (six), Sarah Norman (five),Kiersten Kronschnabel (four), Courtney Dawless (three), Kate Boudreau (two), and Mai Walters (bow).

The V4+ consisted of Elizabeth Tomasco (cox), Meg Duva (stroke), Mikayla Hudson (three), Chisom Mokwuah (two), and Aleksandra Torkelson (bow).

The 2V4+ `A' was Kathleen Snajder (cox), Shannon Cox (stroke), Sierra Mazur (three), Kate Lavrentios (two), and Alexandra Hill (bow).

The 2V4+ `B' was Anna Alvarado (cox), Anna Fetteroll (stroke), Katie Wheatley (three), Katie Ullinger (two), and Sara Nelson

UConn returns to competition on Saturday, April 25 when it heads to Lewisburg, Pa. to compete against Bucknell. Last season, UConn posted wins against Delaware in the varsity eight and second varsity eight as the Huskies took on Delaware and Bucknell in a double-duel format.
