Varsity Eighth Finishes Fourth In Petite Final At Dad Vail

The UConn varsity eight was fourth in the petite final.

PHILADELPHIA - The University of Connecticut varsity eight boat finished fourth in the petite finals on Saturday as UConn wrapped up action at the Dad Vail Regatta. The Huskies started the day by finishing fourth in its semifinal heat to advance to the petite final.

In the semifinals, UConn finished in a time of 7:13.260 as Temple won the race followed by Duquesne, Drexel and the Huskies. UConn finished ahead of Marist and Fordham.

In the petite final, UConn was fourth in 6:49.605 as Purdue won the title followed by California-Sacramento and Drexel. The Huskies finished ahead of George Mason and Colgate.

The UConn novice eight boat was fifth in its semifinal race in a time of 7:12.091 and did not advance to the finals.

UConn returns to action on Sunday when it travels to the BIG EAST Championship in Mercer County, N.J.
