BOSTON – The University of Connecticut women’s rowing team had three boats compete at the Head of the Charles regatta on Saturday and Sunday.
The V8+ competed in the championship eight race, which is the most competitive event at the Head of the Charles. The Huskies placed 32nd overall. California claimed first-place while Brown and Virginia rounded out the top three.
The V4+ took to the river in the championship four event and finished 19th. The U.S. National team, New York AC and Brown took the top three spots.
UConn’s JV4+ raced in the club for event and finished 30th overall in a very competitive field. Potomac won while Clemson came in second and Thames was third.
The V8+ boat was Jun Takeda (cox), Audrey Kelley (stroke), Kat Ratcliffe (seven), Alyssa Hopson (six), Kate Lavrentios (five), Laura Webster (four), Heather Norris (three), Bridget Murphy (two) and Shannon Cox (bow).
The Huskies conclude the fall campaign on Saturday, Oct. 24 at the Head of the Schuylkill in Philadelphia.
