BOSTON - The Univeristy of Connecticut varsity eight finished in third place in the Club Eight at the Head of the Charles on Saturday. It was the best finish ever for a UConn boat at the Head of the Charles as a total of 28 boats were entered. Tennessee won the event followed by Yale and UConn. The UConn second varsity eight finished in 19th place. Full results can be found at at www.hocr.org.
The UConn varsity eight was: sophomore Charlotte Kelley (Simsbury, Conn.), senior Diana Filipek (Sewell, N.J.), senior Kaitlyn Clarke (Tolland, Conn.), junior Hillary Wiles-Lafayette (Litchfield, Conn.), Kate Hughes, senior Andriel Doolittle (Clinton, Conn.), junior Adrienne Barrett (West Granby, Conn.), sophomore Erin Mounce (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) and senior Brittany DePoi (Brookfield, Conn.).
The UConn second varsity eight was: senior Brittanie Reinold (Sulton, Mass.), senior Amanda Sibley (Old Lyme, Conn.), junior Melissa Soucie (Avon, Conn.), senior Mary Grace Haggett (Ledyard, Conn.), senior Jessica Chames (Hookset, N.H.), sophomore Natalie Carlone (Fort Washington, Pa.), sophomore Madelyn Walters (Orleans, Mass.), Amanda Litty and senior Katie Visentin (Cheshire, Conn.).
UConn returns to action next Saturday at the Head of the Fish in Saratoga, N.Y.
