STORRS, Conn. - University of Connecticut junior rower Julia Roth (Weston, Conn.) has been named Second Team All-New England Region by the College Rowing Coaches Association. Roth was a regular member of the Husky varsity eight all season long and was in the fifth seat. Roth was also named first team All-BIG EAST in 2013.

Six Huskies were also named 2013 Scholar-Athletes by the CRCA - senior Adrienne Barrett (West Granby, Conn.), an animal science major; sophomore Kathryn Hughes (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), a physiology and neurobiology major; junior Charlotte Kelley (Simsbury, Conn.), an allied health sciences major; Roth, an allied health sciences major; junior Ashley West (Dudley, Mass.), a pharmacy major; and senior Hillary Wiles-Lafayette (Litchfield, Conn.), an ecology and evolutionary biology major.

Those named as a CRCA Scholar-Athletes have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 of higher and rowed in at least 75% of the team's spring races.
