STORRS, Conn. – Leslie Greer, who spent last season as a member of the Oregon State coaching staff, has been named a graduate assistant coach at the University of Connecticut as announced on Tuesday.

Greer, who completed her Bachelor’s degree at Oregon State in June, served as an undergraduate rowing coach for the Beavers during the 2013-14 season. She was primarily responsible for developing the second novice eight assisting with try-outs and organizing the team databases.

In addition to her work with Oregon State, Greer worked as a coach for the Corvallis Rowing Club.

"I am very excited about the opportunity to be part of the UConn rowing program,” said Greer. “UConn athletics have a tradition of excellence, on and off the field. I am especially excited about seeing the energy the incoming freshmen are bringing, and great leadership from the upperclassmen."

From 2009-13, Greer competed on the Oregon State women’s rowing team, earning three varsity letters. In 2013, she was named a team captain. Greer was also selected as an All-Academic Second Team member on three different occasions.

At UConn, she will assist with the novice walk-ons as well as contribute to the day-to-day team operations.
