STORRS, Conn. – The University of Connecticut women’s rowing team will kick off the fall season on Sunday in Hartford, Conn. at the Head of the Riverfront.
The Huskies closed out the 2014-15 campaign with a seventh-place finish at the American Athletic Conference Championship in Mercer County, N.J. under the guidance of head coach Jennifer Wendry, who enters her 19th season at the helm. UConn’s 3V8+ finished second in the Grand Final of the championship last year.
Connecticut has plenty of experience on its roster with 20 returning upperclassmen, 11 of which are seniors.
When the Huskies participated in the Head of the Riverfront last season, UConn had three boats claim first-place in the regatta, winning the college 8+, college novice 8+ and college 4+ events.
UConn will spend the weekend of Oct. 17-18 competing in the Head of the Charles regatta in Boston, Mass. before concluding the fall campaign at the Head of the Schuylkill in Philadelphia, Pa. on Saturday, Oct. 24.
