CHICAGO – Two members of the University of Connecticut women’s soccer team were selected to compete with the U.S. Under-23 Women’s National Team in this year’s Nordic Tournament in England, beginning Thursday, June 2.
Rising seniors Rachel Hill (Rollinsford, N.H.) and Stephanie Ribeiro (Pawtucket, R.I.) will travel to England this Saturday as part of the 20-person USA roster competing in the tournament. Hill is one of four forwards on the roster and Ribeiro claimed one of nine midfield spots.
The tournament, which features four countries, will be held at St. Georges Park, the sprawling official training center for the England Football Association located about 130 miles north of London.
The USA will square off against the U-23 Women’s National Teams of Sweden (June 2), Norway (June 4) and England (June 7) in what will be the main competition of this summer for this age group.
