KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Two UConn soccer matches will be broadcasted on nscaatv.com this fall as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) on Tuesday.
The Connecticut men’s soccer match against Tulsa on Oct. 11, which kicks off at 7 p.m. at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium, and the UConn women’s soccer game against Florida State (Sept. 18), also at 7 p.m. at Morrone Stadium, will both be shown by the NSCAA, the world’s largest soccer coaches’ association.
Last season, the NSCAA streamed the UConn men’s soccer team’s game against Louisville, a match that ended in a 1-1 draw, and in 2012 Connecticut defeated Washington, 1-0, in overtime in a game that was also broadcasted by the NSCAA. The Huskies’ contest against American Athletic conference newcomer Tulsa in October will be the third meeting between the two schools in a series that dates back to 2008. Connecticut is 0-1-1 against all-time against the Golden Hurricane, who went 11-6-3 last season.
The Connecticut women’s soccer team takes on the Seminoles for the fifth time ever this season since the two programs first played in 2002. UConn is 2-2-0 against Florida State, with the Huskies losing, 3-0, in the teams’ last meeting in 2008. The Huskies went 11-9 last season in women’s soccer coach Len Tsantiris’s 34th season with the team.
The UConn men’s soccer squad, which reached the NCAA Quarterfinals for the third straight season in 2013, kick off its season against Coastal Carolina (Aug. 29), while the women’s soccer team opens regular season play a week earlier at home against Hofstra (Aug. 22).
