CHICAGO - UConn women's soccer standout Rachel Hill has been named to the United States Women's National Team U-20 squad for the upcoming 2014 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Canada. Hill will replace the injured McKenzie Meehan on the roster.

Hill (Rollinsford, N.H.) was called to the U-20 Trial Camp earlier in July after helping the United States qualify for the U-20 Women's World Cup last year. Playing in all six games for the Yanks at the 2014 U-20 CONCACAF Championship, the rising UConn sophomore scored a goal and notched five assists to help the US win the tournament.

During her freshman campaign in Storrs in 2013, Hill dazzled with 13 goals and five assists to total 31 points and earn First Team nods from The American Athletic Conference and NEWISA. She also earned an All-Rookie selection from the conference.

The Stars and Stripes begin their U-20 Women's World Cup campaign on Aug. 5 in Edmonton. The United States is slotted in Group B along with Brazil, China and Germany. USA opens pool play with Germany, then takes on Brazil on Aug. 8, also in Edmonton. Pool play concludes against China on Aug. 12 in Moncton. The Knockout stage begins with the Quarterfinals on Aug. 16-17, before the Semifinals on Aug. 20. The Final will be held at Montreal's Olympic Stadium on Aug. 24, with all contests throughout available on the ESPN family of networks and WatchESPN.
