STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women’s soccer team will face off against the University of Montreal in its second preseason match Friday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium.

UConn finished the 2014-15 season with a record of 14-5-5 and a conference record of 4-2-3. After upsetting top seed UCF in the American Conference semifinals, UConn earned the American Athletic Conference Championship title after defeating USF in penalty kicks. Last season marked the Huskies’ 29th appearance in the NCAA tournament, where they were pushed out by Penn State in the second round.

The team kicked off its preseason schedule on Aug. 10 against Boston College. With less than a week of practices under their belts, the Huskies could not preserve their 1-0 lead over the Eagles and gave up two late goals for a 2-1 loss. Junior Rachel Hill (Rollinsford, N.H.) was an offensive powerhouse for the Huskies, recording the team’s only goal.

The Carabins of the University of Montreal went 9-1-4 during the 2014-15 regular season. The team also advanced to the Canadian equivalent of post-season play, the Championnat Canadien, which was played in Quebec. This is the first time these two teams will meet.

UConn looks to prepare for their regular season premier set for Friday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. when the Huskies take on the Colgate Raiders at Morrone Stadium.
