STORRS, Conn. - UConn women's soccer sophomore Emily Armstrong (Collegeville, Pa.) was named American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, the league announced on Monday (Aug. 25). In addition, classmate Rachel Hill (Rollinsford, Pa.) was named to the league's weekly honor roll after UConn's 2-0-0 week.

Armstrong, The American Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year, stopped 11-of-12 shots and allowed a single goal in UConn's wins over the weekend. She recorded seven saves in a 1-0 shutout of Hofstra on Friday, then stopped four more in a 2-1 victory over Navy on Sunday.

Hill, The American Preseason Co-Offensive Player of the Year, earned an honor roll nod after scoring in both of UConn's wins. She scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick vs. Hofstra, then headed home an equalizer against Navy. For her career, Hill has now scored 15 goals.

The Huskies return to action this weekend with a trip to Penn State on Friday, Aug. 29. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
