STORRS, Conn. – The University of Connecticut women’s soccer team (5-1) moved up one spot in NSCAA weekly poll, claiming the No. 17 spot Tuesday, Sept. 6.
The Huskies, who were previously No. 18 after week two of regular season play, improved one spot in the poll after a 2-0 weekend with wins against Pacific and Central Connecticut State. UConn shutout Pacific 1-0 on Friday and followed that up with a 2-1 victory against CCSU Sunday.
Redshirt senior Stephanie Ribeiro (Pawtucket, R.I.) notched five points over the course of those two games, scoring the game-winning goals against both the Tigers and the Blue Devils.
UConn heads down to the sunshine state for the team’s second away game of the season. They take on No. 1 Florida State Thursday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Seminole Soccer Complex in Tallahassee, Fla.
