UConn women’s soccer freshman forward Kess Elmore (Liverpool, England) was named the American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday.
Elmore scored three goals in two games last year week as the Huskies posted an overtime win against Arkansas on Thursday and tied Fordham on Sunday.
In the 2-1 win over the Razorbacks, Elmore scored the game-winner with 1:43 left to play in the first overtime. She scored both of UConn’s goals in the 2-2 tie vs. Fordham.
Elmore is the leading scorer for the Huskies with five goals for ten points. She has scored all five of her goals in the past three games.
The Huskies returns to action for a pair of home games this weekend at Morrone Stadium as they take on Long Beach State Thursday at 7 p.m. and then on Sunday play Colorado College at 12 p.m.
