HAMILTON, N.Y. –
The No. 23 UConn women’s soccer team will travel to upstate New York Thursday for its last non-conference road game of the season when the Huskies face Colgate at Beyer-Small ’76 Field.

After suffering a 3-0 loss to previously No. 1 Florida State, the Huskies tallied a season-high four goals in their 4-1 victory over Stony Brook Sunday, bringing UConn to a 6-2 overall record.

Redshirt senior Stephanie Ribeiro (Pawtucket, R.I) was named to the American weekly honor roll for her two-goal performance against the Seawolves. She currently leads the team with 14 points (6g, 2a) followed by classmate Rachel Hill (Rollinsford, N.H.) with 10 points (4g, 2a).

Colgate is coming off a heartbreaking 1-0 overtime loss to Central Connecticut State Sunday. The Raiders, who started off their season with two double-overtime draws, have had four out of seven matches finish in overtime, three of which ended in a tie.

The Raiders are led by freshman Abby Sotomayor, a native of Colchester, Conn., with eight points (4g), followed by junior Eliza Doll and senior Sarah Coy who are both ties with five points. UConn is the first nationally ranked program Colgate will face season.

UP NEXT…

After a weekend off, the Huskies return to Joseph J. Morrone Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 22 when they host Fordham at 7 p.m. in their last non-conference match-up of the season.
