Women's Soccer Hosts Two BIG EAST Opponents

STORRS, Conn. - Connecticut women's soccer welcomes two BIG EAST opponents to Morrone Stadium this weekend as they host Louisville at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, and Cincinnati at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25.

The Huskies, 4-4-0 (1-1 BE), opened conference action last week, going 1-1 against Syracuse and St. John's with a 1-0 victory over the Orange at home and a 1-0 overtime road loss against the Red Storm.

Leading the way for UConn is redshirt junior forward Danielle Schulmann (Saddle River, N.J.) and sophomore midfielder Devin Prendergast (Babylon, N.Y.) who each have three goals apiece in 2011. Other top contributors for the Husky offense include senior forward Jessica Shufelt (Rochester, N.Y.), with one goal and two assists, and freshman midfielder Riley Houle (Columbia, Conn.) who has two goals on the season.

 Manning the net for the Huskies is senior keeper Jessica Dulski (Pittsford, N.Y.) who currently holds a 0.87 GAA with 40 saves and seven goals allowed. Dulski, 4-4 on the season, has recorded three shutouts this season and sits third in the BIG EAST in save percentage with .851.

Louisville enters Friday's game with a 3-4-2 (1-0-1 BE) mark with Christine Exeter leading the Cardinals with two goals and two assists, while goalie Chloe Kiefer (3-4-2) owns a 1.03 GAA with 36 saves and 10 allowed goals.

Cincinnati, 5-3-2 (1-1 BE), will travel to Morrone after taking on Providence on Friday. The Bearcats are led by Mackenzie Grause, who has tallied four goals and two assists, and keeper Kristina Utley. Utley, this week's BIG EAST Rookie of the Week, holds a 1.14 GAA with 44 saves and 12 allowed goals.



Both games will be available on Gametracker through, while Friday's game against the Cardinals will be on HuskyVision.

The first 150 fans in attendance to Friday night's game will receive a free UConn rally towel and the first 100 fans in attendance to Sunday's game will receive a free UConn gloves along with fans getting a chance to win VIP seats to First Night.
