STORRS, Conn. – Redshirt senior Stephanie Ribeiro was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her five-point performance against Fordham as announced by the conference Monday.
Ribeiro, who played a role in all four of UConn’s goals Thursday against Fordham, scored the game-winning goal and racked up three assists when the Huskies closed out their non-conference slate with a 4-1 victory against the Rams in UConn’s only match-up last week.
The Pawtucket, R.I. native now definitely leads the nation with six game-winning goals this season. Her early second half goal against Fordham eventually became the game-winner when the Rams got on the board halfway through the final frame.
Hill tallied three points against the Rams, including a secondary assist on Vinciguerra’s first career goal and the team’s fourth and final goal in the 88th minute. She is currently fourth in all-time career goals and tied for seventh in all-time points in the UConn record book.
Vinciguerra earned a spot on this week’s honor roll after she scored her first career goal in the 13th minute to give the Huskies an early 1-0 lead over the Rams. She is currently tied for third on the team with three points this season.
The Huskies make their American Athletic Conference debut against Tulsa Thursday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. when they host the Golden Hurricane at Morrone Stadium in Storrs.
