PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Redshirt senior Stephanie Ribeiro earned Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week as announced by the American Athletic Conference Monday.
Ribeiro, who is now tied for first in the nation with 12 goals this season, tallied a pair of goals in back-to-back games to help UConn to a 2-0 start in its conference schedule. She finished with 11 total points this past weekend.
The Pawtucket, R.I. native notched a career-high six points in a single game in Thursday's conference opener against Tulsa with two goals and two assists. She added another five points Sunday against Memphis, scoring two goals, including the game-winner, and earning one assist.
Ribeiro's game-winner against Memphis reclaimed her the No. 1 spot in the nation, giving her seven game-winning goals this season.
Senior Rachel Hill was named to the Weekly Honor Roll for the second straight week, after her combined nine-point performance against the Golden Hurricane and the Tigers.
The Rollinsford, N.H. native scored two goals, including the game-winner, in UConn's 4-2 victory over Tulsa and added another two goals and an assist in Sunday's 4-1 defeat of Memphis. Her four goals broke the tie for third place in the UConn record book for all-time career goals and gave Hill the definitive third place spot with 55 goals.
Ribeiro, Hill and the rest of the Husky squad will travel to Texas for their first conference road trip, beginning with SMU on Oct. 6 and concluding with Houston on Oct. 9.
