The Huskies are set to host two BIG EAST opponents this weekend when they face USF at 7 p.m. on Friday and welcome No. 20 Marquette to Morrone Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m. Connecticut enters the weekend with a 7-5-1 overall record and 3-3 mark in BIG EAST. Both games will be broadcasted live on WHUS at WHUS.org or locally on 91.7 FM.

University of Connecticut women's soccer shutout BIG EAST opponent South Florida, 1-0, on a rainy Friday night in Tampa, Fla. to improve to 6-5-2 and 3-2-2 in conference action.

Women's Soccer Shutout By No. 9/13 Marquette, 3-0
University of Connecticut women's soccer team concluded its four-game road stretch with a 3-0 loss to No. 9/13 Marquette to fall to 6-6-2 on the season and 3-3-2 in the BIG EAST. With the win, Marquette improves to 14-2-0 and 7-1-0 in conference play.

who is just two wins away from reaching a career mark of 500 victories. Tsantiris will be only the second coach in NCAA women’s soccer history to achieve this illustrious milestone.
Connecticut women’s soccer game notes:
TWO FROM 500: Head Coach Len Tsantiris is in his 32nd year at the helm of the Huskies. He currently is the second most winning active women’s soccer coach with an overall record of 498-168-49. Tsantiris is only the second coach to record 450 or more wins and is en route to becoming only the second coach to reach 500 victories as he is two wins away.
A LOOK AT THE HUSKIES: The Huskies are back in action at Morrone Stadium this weekend after splitting two home contests with a 3-2 win over DePaul and a 4-0 loss to Notre Dame. Connecticut continues to attack the net taking outshooting opponents 17.2 to 12.9 and have scored 30 goals to its challengers 26. Leading the way is senior forward Danielle Schulmann who has 25 points on nine goals and seven assists, while freshman Andrea Plucenik is second in line with 11 points on five goals and an assist. The Huskies have seen three keepers defending the net who have totaled a 1.94 GAA.
UCONN & USF: The Huskies own a 5-1-1 all-time mark over the Bulls with the most recent meeting resulting in a 1-0 UConn victory.
UCONN & THE GOLDEN EAGLES: UConn is 2-5 against Marquette all-time as the Huskies were shutout in Milwaukee 3-0 in 2011.
NINE HUSKIES RECORDING POINTS: UConn has several offensive threats as nine Huskies have registered points and eight have found the back of the net in 2012. The future looks bright as four out of the nine recording points are freshmen.
