STORRS, Conn. – Connecticut women’s soccer team continues its four-game road stretch this weekend when they head to South Florida on Friday, Oct. 7, at 7:30 p.m. and No. 9/13 Marquette on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m.

The Huskies moved to 5-5-2 on the season with a 2-2-2 mark in BIG EAST action after going 1-1 on their journey to the Midwest. UConn fell 3-0 to defending National Champions Notre Dame prior to defeating DePaul, 2-1.

Leading the Huskies is redshirt junior forward Danielle Schulmann (Saddle River, N.J.) with 14 points on seven goals and three game winning goals. Schulmann’s most recent performance lifted the Huskies to a 2-1 victory over BIG EAST foe DePaul when she recorded both UConn goals. Schulmann’s dominant show over the Blue Demons earned her this week’s Soccersavings.com/New England Soccer News Women’s College Player of the Week.

In addition to Schulmann, sophomore midfielder Devin Prendergast (Babylon, N.Y.) has three goals and freshman mid Riley Houle (Columbia, Conn.) has recorded two goals with each girl tallying an assist. Senior forward Jessica Shufelt (Rochester, N.Y.) leads the Huskies in assists as she has three on the season.

Leading the Connecticut defense is senior keeper Jessica Dulski (Pittsford, N.Y.) who has 1.20 goals against average with 54 saves and 15 allowed goals. Dulski, 5-5-2, is just one save shy of being third in career saves in the Husky all-time record book. With 226 career saves, Dulski currently is tied for fourth with Wendy Logan (’88-’91).

Joining Dulski in playing every minute thus far for UConn is junior defender Danielle Dakin (Wilbraham, Mass.). Both players have played in all 1121:22 minutes of the 2011 campaign and have played a major role in holding opponents to taking 12.4 shots per game and scoring 1.25 goals per game.

The Huskies have fared well in their series history with the Bulls, 5-4-4 (1-2-3 BE) holding a 4-1-1 overall record, while they are 2-4-0 overall against the Golden Eagles (12-2-0, 5-1-0 BE).
