STORRS, Conn. - UConn women's soccer will travel to Providence, R.I. on Saturday, Oct. 22 to take on BIG EAST rival Providence in the final regular season matchup of 2011 at 2 p.m.
The Huskies moved to 7-7-2 overall and 4-4-2 after splitting their last regular season home games with a 1-0 win over Pittsburgh and a 2-1 loss to No. 20 West Virginia. Meanwhile, the Friars are 6-8-4 overall with a 4-6 mark in conference action.
With the Huskies currently sitting in fourth place in the BIG EAST's American Division with 14 points and the Friars in fifth with 12 points, Saturday's game is a must-win for both squads.
Leading the UConn offense is redshirt junior Danielle Schulmann (Saddle River, N.J.) with 15 points on seven goals and one assist, while sophomore mid Devin Prendergast (Babylon, N.Y.) has nine points on four goals and an assist and freshman midfielder Riley Houle (Columbia, Conn.) has tallied seven points on three goals and an assist.
Senior keeper Jessica Dulski (Pittsford, N.Y.) recorded her fifth shutout of the season with the Huskies 1-0 victory over Pitt and she currently has a 1.22 GAA with 79 saves and 20 allowed goals.
The Huskies postseason fate is in their own hands this weekend as there are currently seven teams left fighting for the last four spots in the BIG EAST tournament.
