NCAA Tournament Bracket

STORRS, Conn. - For the 27th time in 28 years, the University of Connecticut women's soccer team is in the NCAA tournament. The Huskies will face off against Boston University on Friday, November 13 at 7 p.m. at the Newton Campus Soccer Field on the Boston College campus.

The Huskies have already met with Boston University once this season during the UConn Classic on Friday, September 11. UConn and BU battled to a 0-0 tie at the end of regulation, but the Huskies took the 1-0 win in overtime helping to extend their eventual six game win-streak to three games at the time.

The Huskies and the Terriers are no stranger to each other in post season play. Two of their five meetings have come in the NCAA tournament. The two teams have a split record (1-1) as UConn won the first meeting 1-0 and the Terriers won the second meeting 1-0 in double overtime.

Overall, UConn leads the series 3-2 after their 1-0 win this season. The last four meetings between the two teams have been decided by a 1-0 score, two of them coming in overtime.

The winner of this game will go on to face the winner of the Boston College and Harvard meeting that is also taking place on Friday. The two winners will meet on Sunday, November 11.

Seven BIG EAST women's soccer teams (Notre Dame, Marquette, Rutgers, West Virginia, St. John's, Villanova and Connecticut) were picked, a feat also accomplished in 2006. The seven teams also is one shy of the league record eight set in 2001.
