CHICAGO, Ill. – Freshman forward Rachel Hill (Rollinsford, N.H.) and sophomore forward Stephanie Ribeiro (Pawtucket, R.I.) will represent the University of Connecticut women’s soccer program at the United States Under-20 Women’s National Team Camp this week. The camp selections were announced on Nov. 20 and will compete at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, California from Nov. 24-Dec. 1. The camp will afford U.S. head coach Michelle French the opportunity to evaluate and select players for the upcoming 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Hill and Ribeiro were two of 16 players selected to attend the camp after having an exceptional 2013 season in which the duo played an integral role in the UConn offense. The pair combined for 19 goals and 9 assists for the Huskies this fall, logging seven game-winning goals in sum.

Rachel Hill exploded onto the college scene with a 31-point freshman season. She led the Huskies in nearly every offensive category, recording team-best figures in goals (13), assists (5), shooting percentage (.153), and game-winning goals (4). Hill received numerous weekly honors from the American Athletic Conference throughout the season, netting both Rookie of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week recognition. In postseason awards announced by the conference, the American named Hill First Team All-Conference as well as tabbing her for the All-Rookie squad. Starting all 20 season games, the Rollinsford, N.H. native concluded her rookie season tied for third in the conference in goals score and tied for fourth in points.

Stephanie Ribeiro enjoyed a breakout sophomore campaign for Connecticut that saw her join Hill on the American All-Conference First Team. The Pawtucket, R.I. native came alive immediately following the midpoint of the season, rattling off all of her 16 season points in the latter 12 games of UConn’s schedule. Three of her six goals proved to be game-winners, including a dramatic overtime marker against Cincinnati in the Huskies' penultimate regular season home match. The sophomore has accumulated 25 career points on nine goals and seven assists in two seasons of action with Connecticut.
