Lakewood Ranch, Fla. – UConn freshman Kess Elmore will play for the England U-20 Women’s National Team in the 2017 Women’s Nike Friendlies from Wednesday, Dec. 7 through Sonday, Dec. 11 at the Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
The four-team tournament, featuring the United States, England, Finland and Brazil, will be a round robin format that will be used to prepare for the qualifying of the 2018 FIFA U-20 World Cup in France. England has already earned their spot into the 2018 event.
Elmore just finished her freshman season at UConn scoring five goals including two multi-goal performances, which led the team. Her contributions earned her a spot on the American Athletic Conference All-Rookie team. She burst onto the scene with a two-goal game at CCSU that led the Huskies to their first win of the season. Her signature moment came against Arkansas at Morrone Stadium with a game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Huskies, 2-1.
England plays three matches will be played on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. against the United States, Friday, Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. vs. Brazil and wrap up the competition against Finland on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 3 p.m. All matches will be streamed live on U.S. Soccer’s Facebook page, Youtube channel and ussoccer.com.
