    Alex Gray enters his second season as an assistant coach with the UConn softball team. Gray brings a wealth of experience to the coaching staff as he has several years of experience coaching at various high school and collegiate levels. Gray also served as a Health and Physical Education teacher from 2007-2012.

    Most recently, Gray was the head softball coach at Lowndes High School in Georgia where he compiled a 67-34 overall record and led the squad to three Region Championships and being ranked a top-ten team in Georgia in both 2009 and 2010. For Gray's efforts with the Vikings he was tabbed the 2012 Head Coach for the South All-Star Team in the GACA Softball Showcase.

    In addition to coaching for the varsity team at Lowndes, Gray served as the head junior varsity and varsity coach at Richmond Hill High School from 2009-12 and reached the first round of the state tournament in 2009. He also was the head golf coach and junior varsity coach for women's basketball at Richmond Hill.

    Gray earned his Associates degree from Young Harris College and his Bachelors in speech communications from Valdosta State in 2002. He lettered in baseball for two years at Young Harris and two years for the Blazers. Gray served as an assistant coach with the Blazers' softball team from 2001-2002 while at Valdosta.
