2016 (Senior Season): Started all 52 games at shortstop…Played in 206 games in her UConn career, tied for eighth-most in program history…Of players with at least 50 at-bats, she led the team in batting average (.316), hits (49), total bases (68), stolen bases (10), defensive assists (147), and was tied for the home run lead (4)…Hit .306 in league games with four RBI and nine runs scored…Overtook Chris Woodman (1990-93) for the program lead in career defensive assists (520)…Named Second Team All-Conference at the season’s conclusion…Chosen twice for the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll (April 4 and May 9)…Tied for team lead with 11 multi-hit games and second with seven multi-RBI games…Hit two-run home run against UCF in AAC quarterfinals…Went 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored in win over St. John’s on March 13…Three games with three hits, including 3-for-5 day with three RBI and two runs scored against Hofstra on March 12.

2015 (Junior Season): Was the only Husky to start in all 53 of the squad's games... Ranked third on the team with a .269 batting average and also sported a .331 on-base percentage... Recorded two home runs in a three-game period between March 29-April 3 en-route to a selection to The American's weekly honor roll.... Tallied eight extra-base hits and notched 10 RBI... Finished the season 5-for-6 on stolen base opportunities and also held a .916 fielding percentage as the primary shortstop... Scored a team-best 28 runs.

2014 (Sophomore Season)
: The primary shortstop for the Huskies, starting 48 games in the infield for Connecticut... Gifford finished the year batting .217 with 28 hits in 129 at bats... she scored 15 runs on the season and drove in 11, recording on home run and a pair of doubles... on the defensive end, she ranked third on the team with 104 putouts and led the squad with 104 assists, recording a .933 fielding percentage.


2013 (Freshman Season):
Started in all 53 games during the season... Recorded a .266 batting average to go along with 37 hits... Was third on the team with five homeruns and tied for second with 24 RBI... Third on the team with 11 doubles en route to a .468 slugging percentage... Led the team, and the BIG EAST with 147 assists... Recorded a walk-off hom run against St. John's (April 20).

Before UConn: Attended Natick High in Natick, MA... Three sport MVP in softball, basketball, and soccer... Captained all three teams and was the first female athlete to start three varsity sports as a freshman... Three-time All -Conference in softball... League MVP and batted .615 senior year and .480 for her career... All-time leading scorer in basketball and first female 1,000 point scorer in Natick High history... Three time all conference... League Co-MVP and led team to South Section finals in 2012... All conference in soccer and leading scorer in 2009... Part of the honor roll.
