STILLWATER, Okla. – The University of Connecticut softball team continues non-conference play when it travels to the campus of Oklahoma State to participate in the 2015 Mizuno Classic. The Huskies will play two at Cowgirl Stadium on Friday, March 6 beginning with UMKC at 2:30 p.m. ET before closing out the day against Oklahoma St. at 8 p.m. ET. On Saturday, the Huskies will challenge Evansville at noon.

UConn (4-6) last played at the Wilson/DeMarini Tournament in Auburn, Ala. falling in four of its five tournament games. The Huskies picked up a 2-1 win over SIUE on Friday, Feb. 27 behind a complete-game win from senior RHP Lauren Duggan.
The Huskies are 3-0 all-time against the Purple Aces, including a 6-3 win on Feb. 21 at the Trojan Invitational in Troy, Ala. Sophomore RHP Kayla Doty picked up her first win of the season in the contest after tossing 6.0 innings, while senior captain Emily O’Donnell collected three hits and a pair of RBIs at the plate. The Huskies won their only game against UMKC in 2003 and sport an 0-3 all-time record against the Cowgirls.
Junior C Jacklyn Dubois has paced the Huskies at the dish through the squad’s first 10 games of the 2015 season, leading the team with a stellar .370 batting average and a .433 OBP. Her batting average ranks seventh in the American Athletic Conference. Junior INF/OF Alyson Ambler’s .538 slugging percentage is 10th among conference players, while Emily O’Donnell’s five doubles are tied for fifth among league competition.
The Huskies will be searching for their first-ever win when playing in the state of Oklahoma (0-6).
