Storrs, Conn. - The University of Connecticut softball game against Fairfield scheduled for Wednesday has been moved to Thursday at 3:30 p.m. The game will be played at the Connecticut Softball Stadium on the Storrs campus.
Both teams will be looking to move above .500 on the season as UConn stands at 8-8 while Fairfield owns a 5-5 record.
UConn recently competed at the USF Under Armour Invitational in Clearwater, Fla. and finished with a 3-2 record. The Huskies saw a one-hit shutout from sophomore hurler Kiki Saveriano in the final game on Sunday, March 13. UConn defeated LaSalle in that game, 4-0.
The Huskies also slugged their way to a 17-4 victory over Colorado State last weekend, led by junior Amy Vaughan's 3-for-3 day. Vaughan finished the game a double short of the cycle. On the week, Vaughan batted .455 with a .909 slugging percentage.
Admission to all UConn softball games is free.
