STORRS, Conn. –
Coming off an American Athletic Conference series at ECU over the weekend, the UConn softball team returns home for midweek action, as UMass visits on Tuesday and Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday at the Burrill Family Field.

The Huskies (14-22, 1-7 American) welcome the Minutewomen and the Knights as part of a five-game homestand, which extends to a three-game set with Tulsa from Friday through Sunday.

Both games can be followed on live stats or watched on Husky Vision for paid subscribers, as well as monitored @UConnSoftball on Twitter.

Due to weather conditions this season, UConn has played just one game at the Burrill Family Field – a 3-2 win over Boston College last Tuesday. The Huskies were swept by ECU over Easter weekend.

Freshman Carli Cutler continues to have success in her first season, boasting a team-high .340 batting average. She is tied with redshirt senior Valerie Sadowl for a team-best 10 multi-hit games this season and has reached base in 18 of her last 19 games.

Junior pitcher Chelsea Eckert turned in the best performance of the weekend, tossing a complete-game against the Pirates on Saturday. She allowed just two runs on three hits, as the Huskies fell 2-1.

UConn is 43-48-1 all-time against UMass, but has not played Fairleigh Dickinson prior to Wednesday’s scheduled meeting.

UMass (19-18, 8-3 Atlantic 10) took two of three games against Fordham over the weekend in conference action and has won four of five overall. The Minutewomen defeated the Huskies last season, 7-4, in Storrs.

Kaitlyn Stavinoha leads the team with a .355 batting average and 31 RBI, while Candace Denis (7-7) leads all pitchers with a 2.36 ERA in 16 appearances this season.

Fairleigh Dickinson (2-25, 0-8 Northeast Conference) was swept by Bryant in a doubleheader over the weekend. The Knights are looking for their first win since April 5 against UMass.

Reanna Cervantes has a team-best .349 batting average and 29 hits this season, but the Knights’ pitching staff has a combined 7.17 ERA – allowing 166 earned runs in 162 innings of work.

11: Cutler’s rank in the American Athletic Conference when it comes to batting average. Her .340 mark is just one percentage point below Memphis’ Addison Maxwell for a top-10 spot.

98: Number of strikeouts for freshman pitcher Katie Koshes this season, putting her third among all pitchers in the conference.

2.95: ERA for sophomore pitcher Jill Stockley, joining Koshes as the only two UConn pitchers with sub-3.00 ERA’s.
