The University of Connecticut softball team begins its final homestand of the regular season when it plays host to in-state rival Quinnipiac at Burrill Family Field on Wednesday, April 29 at 4 p.m. before welcoming UMass to the Storrs campus on Thursday, April 30 at 4 p.m.

Quinnipiac Rally Tips UConn Softball, 11-10
In a make-up game with the Quinnipiac University softball team, the Bobcats rallied to defeat the Huskies, 11-10, on Thursday in Hamden. The Huskies owned the scoreboard, 10-7, headed into the final frame until the Bobcats rallied to tie and received a dramatic walk-off hit with two outs and the bases loaded. The loss drops UConn to 7-22 on the season while Quinnipiac picks up its fourth win for a 4-21 overall record.

UConn Softball Downs UMass On Thursday, 4-2
The University of Connecticut softball team collected seven hits and used four pitchers on its way to a 4-2 victory over UMass-Amherst on Thursday afternoon at Burrill Family Field. With the win, UConn improves to 13-31 this season while the Minutewomen drop to 11-19.

UConn (17-30, 4-10 The American) rounded out road play with a 1-2 trip to East Carolina last weekend. The Huskies took game one of Saturday's doubleheader, 3-1, backed by a go-ahead home run off the bat of Jacklyn Dubois in the sixth.

In the most recent NCAA stats release, senior 3B Emily O'Donnell, who ranks ninth in the conference with a .343 batting average, checked in in 70th in the country with 0.31 doubles per game. Teammate Taylor Townsend ranks eighth in the league with a stellar .428 OBP, while Alyssa Gardea's three triples are good for the fifth-highest mark in American Athletic Conference play.

UConn and Quinnipiac have squared off on the diamond on 23 occasions with the Huskies holding a 16-7 all-time edge. The Huskies are 42-47-1 all-time against the Minutewomen with the most recent tilt coming in a 4-2 Connecticut win on April 24, 2014.

The Huskies sport a 3-4 record at home this season and are 29-28 at Burrill Family Field since the start of the 2012 campaign.

The Bobcats enter the Wednesday tilt with a 14-32 overall record, while the Minutewomen check in at 14-23.
