    UConn Diver Taryn Urbanus Wins The 3-Meter In Day One Of Conference Championships

    The Huskies sit in second place after opening with 101 points

    At UConn: Put up some really good times at the conference meet and won multiple backstroke events at the Norwegian Championships over the summer... Named the American Athletic Conference Female Swimmer of the Week (Feb. 4) as a freshman after winning all four backstroke events in UConn's meet against Colgate (Feb. 2)... Has the talent to qualify for the NCAA Championships this season as a sophomore.

    Achievements: Was the Norwegian Champion in the 2011 Long Course Meters 200 backstroke... Finished second in the LCM 200 backstroke in 2013... Holds the Norwegian record in the long and short course 4 x 100 IM relay... Won the championship record in the long course 4 x 200-Meter.

    Personal: Born Nov. 7, 1993... Daughter of Frank and Annette Pederson... Has two sisters, Malene (17) and Silje (14)... Business Management Major.
