Bordes, Lum Honored In Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar Program

Bordes is one of 20 finalists for national award.

As a Junior in 2016-17: Named a semifinalist for the Arhtur Ashe Jr. Sports Award, given by Diverse: Issues In High Education...was named the national winner of that award for women's swimming...a member ofthe American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.

As a Freshman in 2015-16:
Was third in the 50-yard butterfly at the Husky Open...won the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard medley relay in dual meet vs. Dartmouth.

At UConn: 
Won 100-butterfly against Dartmouth in time of 58.38...Part of 200-medley relay team that took first against Dartmouth in 1:48.39...Placed second in 50-breaststroke at Husky Open

Achievements
: Competed four years at Alpharetta...named MVP and earned the Coaches Award twice...was a captain...set the 200-yard freestyle record...member of the 200 and 400-yard freestyle relay teams that broke the school record...tabbed as Female Athlete of the Week twice...was nominated for the Wendy's Heisman Award...gradauted summa cum laude.

Personal: Danielle Bordes...daughter of George and Florence Bordes...has one sister, Natalie...human development and family studies major with a minor in psychology.
