Cecco To Dive At NCAAs In Two Events

Danielle Cecco will represent UConn in two diving events.

BLACKSBURG, Va. - University of Connecticut senior Danielle Cecco (Hicksville, N.Y.) finished second in the one-meter diving event on Saturday at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championship. Cecco will now compete in both the one-meter and three-meter diving events at the NCAA national championship, which will be held March 20-23 in Indianapolis.

On Friday, Cecco finished second in the three-meter event at the Zone Championship. Cecco scored 591.60 points in the event while Kaylea Arnett of Virginia Tech was the winner with 606.35 points. UConn senior Nicole Borriello (Montgomery, N.Y) was 11th with 479.40.

Cecco has now qualified for the NCAA Championships in each of the past three seasons.

On the men's side, freshman John Brice (Bala Cynwood, Pa.) was eighth in the three-meter dive while senior Grant Fecteau (Delmar, N.Y.) was 16th.
