PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - University of Connecticut freshman Laura Hyland (Southport, England) won a pair of breaststroke events while senior Danielle Cecco (Hicksville, N.Y.) won both diving events as the women’s swimming and diving team dropped a 174-125 decision at Pennsylvania on Saturday.

The Huskies fall to 3-1 on the season.

Cecco won the one-meter event with a score of 321.60 while she won the three-meters with 335.03 points. Hyland was the winner in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:07.36 and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:23.54. Cecco's score on the three-meter board topped her own school record and also set a Pennsylvania pool record.

UConn also won the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:36.55. That team was comprised of sophomore Chinyere Pigot (Miami, Fla.), senior Katie Dobler (Pittsford, N.Y.), senior Isabelle Nat (Barrie, Ont.) and senior Jordan Bowen (Lake Elmo, Minn.).

The Huskies return to action this Thur.-Sat., November 15-17 when they participate in the Virginia Tech Invitational.
