Bowen Finishes Third In 200-Yard Freestyle

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Senior Jordan Bowen (Lake Elmo, Minn.) finished in third place in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:51.05 and senior Danielle Cecco (Hicksville, N.Y.) was third in the one-meter diving with a score of 288.45 to lead the University of Connecticut on the second day of competition at the H2Okie Fall Invitational on Friday.

Virginia Tech leads the event with 1,016.5 points while South Carolina has 569.5 followed by UConn with 359.5, William & Mary with 355.5 and Liberty with 264. The event concludes on Saturday.

Senior Mary deMarrais (Bernardsville, N.J.) was fourth in the 400-yard IM in a time of 4:25.16 while freshman Laura Hyland (Southport, England) was seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:08.84.

Sophomore Chinyere Pigot (Miami, Fla.) was fourth in the B final of the 100-yard butterfly in 57.48 seconds and senior Kim Fleming (Mississauga, Ont.) was fifth in the B final of the 100-yard backstroke in 57.19 seconds.
