BLACKSBURG, Va. - University of Connecticut sophomore Chinyere Pigot (Miami, Fla.) finished in third place in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 51.01 seconds while senior Mary deMarrais (Bernardsville, N.J.) was third in the 1,650-yard freestyle in a time of 16:52.97 as the team completed action at the H2Okie Fall Invitational.

Virginia Tech won the event with 1,491 points followed by South Carolina with 804, UConn with 520.5, William & Mary with 514 and Liberty with 331.

Senior Kim Fleming (Mississauga, Ont.) was second in the B final of the 200-yard backstroke in 2:01.87 while freshman Laura Hyland (Southport, England) was fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke.

Sophomore Holly Gallagher (Haddon Township, N.J.) was fifth in the 200-yard butterfly.

The Huskies return to action when member of the team travel to the USA Swimming Winter Nationals on November 29-30 and December 1 in Austin, Texas.
