    COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Connecticut men's and women's swimming and diving teams both enjoyed a successful Friday on the second day of the three-day Terrapin Cup. The UConn men are in second place of seven teams with 698 points while the women are third of eight with 424 points behind Maryland and Villanova.

    The UConn women were led by junior Caitlin Gallagher (Lawrence, Kansas), who was second in the 400-yard IM in 4:22.37 and was fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke.

    Sophomore Danielle Cecco (Hicksville, N.Y.) won the three-meter diving with 286.30 points.

    Junior Karim Zayed (Montreal, Que.) posted an NCAA B-cut qualifying time as he won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:36.28, which set an all-time UConn record and a pool record at Maryland.

    Also posting an NCAA B-cut time was the UConn 800-yard freestyle relay team, who won the event in a school-record time of 6:37.57. The UConn 200-yard medley relay team also took first in a time of 1:31.40.

    Sophomore Jeremy Ramshaw (Mississauga, Ont.) won the 400-yard IM in a school-record time of 3:57.59 and was also second in the 100-yard backstroke. Senior Tomasz Sobek (Siemianowice, Poland) won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 56.60 seconds while sophomore Kyungsoo Yoon (Toronto, Ont.) was second in the 100-yard butterfly in 49.67 seconds.

    Husky junior Brad Schott (Wilton, Conn.) won the three-meter diving title with 291.15 points.
