UConn Diving Team Head to NCAA Zone A Championships

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The UConn men’s and women’s diving team will compete in the NCAA Zone A Championships at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center tomorrow, Monday March 6 through Wednesday, March 8.

Six divers will compete for the Huskies in The Championships. On the women’s side, seniors Ali Butera, Amanda Craig, Michelle Kalupski and junior Monica Marcello. Junior Dan Kinney and senior Spencer Beaulieu represent the men’s team. The six divers as a whole is the largest contingent that UConn has sent to the NCAA Zone A.

There are 61 women and 46 men competing, representing 35 schools and more than nine conferences it is the largest Zone Meet in the Country” said head diving coach John Bransfield. “Just like everyone else that qualified, we are headed down there to give our best. We have six student-athletes competing in the springboard events and I like the team we are bringing.”

The Zone A Meets kick off at noon on Monday. The top six in the three-meter dive and the top five finishers in the one-meter dive will advance to the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis March 23-25.
