Five Husky Divers Off To NCAA Zone Competition

STORRS, Conn. - Five members of the University of Connecticut men's and women's diving teams will take part in the 2010 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships on Friday-Sunday, March 12-14, at Rutgers University.

Freshman Grant Fecteau (Delmar, N.Y.) will represent the men's team in the one-meter dive while senior Stephen Ferreira (Madison, Conn.), junior Adam Genuario (Norwalk, Conn.) and sophomore Brad Schott (Wilton, Conn.) will all dive in the three-meter event.

During the BIG EAST Championship, Ferreira was third in the three-meter competition and fourth in the one-meter. He earned All-BIG EAST honors in the three-meter.

Genuario was seventh at the BIG EAST in the three meters while Schott was eighth. Fecteau was eighth in the one-meter at the BIG EASTs.

Freshman Danielle Cecco (Hicksville, N.Y.) will represent the women's team in the three-meter event. She was third in the consolation portion of the BIG EAST Championship in the three-meters. Junior Jessica Hovancik (Valatie, N.Y.) and freshman Nicole Borriello (Montgomery, N.Y.) also qualified for the weekend event, but will have to miss it due to injury.
