STORRS, Conn. – The University of Connecticut women’s swimming and diving team announced Thursday that rising seniors Margot Manning (Frederick, Md.) and Sophie Nothnagle (Victor, N.Y.) will serve as captains for the 2016-17 season.
Both All-Conference selections as juniors, Manning and Nothnagle will captain a Husky squad that finished sixth in the conference with a total 457 points.
Nothnagle completed the 200-butterfly in 2:00.73 to finish in sixth place. She was also the sole representative for UConn in the 100-butterfly, completing the race in 55.60 to come in 12th. Nothnagle competed as part of the 400-medley relay team that placed sixth with a time of 3:47.41.
Manning competed as part of the 400-freestlye relay, which placed fifth with a time of 3:26.00. She was also 13th in the B-Final of the 100-freestyle in a time of 51.23. Manning also completed the 200-IM in 2:03.87, which gave her sixth place.
