STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut men's and women's swimming and diving teams were both honored by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America as Scholar All-American Team for the 2011 spring semester.
The association presents the honor to teams that have a 3.0 grade point average or better each semester.
This past spring semester, the UConn women's team had a 3.17 GPA while the men had a 3.11 GPA.
"I am very proud of both teams for being honored as Scholar All-American teams," said UConn coach Bob Goldberg. "Academic excellence has been a long standard and tradition in our swimming and diving programs. It is a credit to the hard work that our student-athletes put into both their studies and athletics."
