2018 Spring Schedule

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women’s tennis team announced their 2018 spring schedule with the Huskies hosting eight matches and facing six American Athletic Conference teams.

“We have some very challenging matches this spring, but I feel very confident after our strong fall tournament results,” commented head coach Glenn Marshall.  “The team is very close, and they have been pushing each other every day during our off-season workouts.  I am also looking forward to hosting five American teams on campus this spring for home matches.”

During the fall, the Huskies split a pair of dual matches, beating Quinnipiac, 7-0, but falling to UMass, 4-3. UConn will get the spring season underway with two home matches against MAAC opponents at the East Hartford Tennis Club Siena on January 28th against Siena and against Marist on February 4th. From there, UConn has six-straight on the road during the month of February.

The first of six AAC match-ups takes place when the Huskies head to Houston on the weekend of February 23rd and 24th. The Huskies face the host Cougars and also play a match with Northwestern State on the trip.

UConn will host home matches against conference foes Temple (Mar. 2) and Tulane (Mar. 4), both at the East Hartford Tennis Club, then welcome to their campus courts Memphis (Apr. 6), Cincinnati (Apr. 13) and ECU (Apr. 15).

The Huskies have match-ups at Syracuse (Feb. 9) and against Stony Brook at Army West Point (Feb. 11) as well as a weekend in Ithaca, N.Y. will they will face Cornell (Feb. 16) and Rutgers (Feb. 17). UConn also faces regional rivals Boston College on the road (Mar. 25) and Boston University at home (Apr. 7).

The annual spring break trip will take the Huskies to Bradenton, Florida and the IMG Academy courts. UConn has four matches scheduled, facing Drexel (Mar. 11), Army West Point (Mar. 12), Colgate (Mar. 13) and Rhode Island (Mar. 13).

The 2018 AAC Championship is scheduled for four days on April 18-21 and will be held this season at the SMU Tennis Complex in Dallas Texas.
